Promoting independent learning in the classroom
Outline: Universal workshops will support you to create a communication supportive environment, which will benefit all pupils. It is useful for all teachers to attend the ‘Communication Supportive Environment’ workshop.
Description: Increase your knowledge of the strategies which students can use to support themselves and how you can support them to learn these strategies, including use of vocabulary strategies.
Aims of the workshop:
- Increase knowledge about a range of different self help strategies for students
- Increase confidence in supporting students to use self help strategies in the school environment to help them become more independent learners
- Increase awareness of strategies that can be taught to the whole class to support all students
Audience:
- Primary KS2/ Secondary
- Teachers/ LSAs/ SENCos
