Outline
Description
Gain an understanding of the differences between Bilingualism and SLCN and how you can support children within the classroom.
This course is jointly delivered by SLT service and Carolyn Gelenter (Advisory Teacher for SLCN).
Outcomes
Aims of the workshop:
- To gain some understanding of bilingualism and SLCN
- To gain awareness of how SLCN might present in the classroom
- To be able to begin to differentiate between typical bilingualism and SLCN
- To be able to know when to refer to Speech and Language Therapy
- To gain strategies to support bilingual children and children with SLCN
